My Do, Doing & Done Board

I’ve tried a lot of different methods to keep my business (and life) organized and I find that my Do, Doing & Done Board helps me keep my bigger projects and tasks on track!

Please share how you organize your business to make sure you don’t miss anything!

Stop Being Afraid of Video & Grow Your Business

Are you looking to gain more customers or clients? Chances are that video can help you do that! So many of the social media channels these days – especially Facebook – prioritize video content over photos and absolutely over text-only posts.

“But Holly, I get so nervous in front of the camera! I’m so nervous!”

Yup, I was too! The camera can be a scary thing, the perceived audience can be such a block for most folks.

Find out how I overcame the fear and anxiety I felt when I first started doing video and how it can help you grow your business too!

Take The Dirt Path

“of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt” – john muir

Although there are many an excellent quote about nature from John Muir, this is one of my personal faves. I love that this simple sentence is so true both literally and figuratively.

Personal biases aside, everyone should take the time to get out into nature – to absorb the smell of the trees and sky above and the earth below. Being in nature has so many fantastic benefits not limited to better health and increased creativity. Taking a path less travelled exposes you to, as Jasmin so melodically put it, “a whole new world, a new fantastic point of view.”

Depending on where you go, you’ll see wildlife going through each day in a totally different way than you see your family or coworkers going through each day. You’ll be introduced to new plants and foliage. You may even have to do things you’ve never done before (I encourage it).

If your version of a hike is the 1-mile loop around the lake you’ve tread a million times, work your way up something with an incline or perhaps even a big ol’ 14,000ft mountain! Love the look of said lake from the shore? Rent a kayak and see what the view looks like from the middle.

In a more figurative sense, in growing your life and business into the creation you want it to be, you’ll likely need to blaze a trail all your own. Use the tools and maybe even some maps developed by those ahead of you, for sure, but don’t for one second limit yourself to the exact path that they tread.

Your mentor may have started her very similar business at a similar phase in her life and grown it to an extraordinary accomplishment but the exact steps that she took won’t necessarily make the most sense for you, your life or your business. Ask her for advice, listen to her responses and do whatever helps you achieve your own personal goals in the end.

There are a lot of tried-and-true methods and recipes out there to grow your Instagram following or get your product on TV or your service featured in a local publication. These are excellent tools and you should by all means absorb and follow them! You should not, however, let fear, insecurity or lack of a manual prevent you from trying something new in your business.

If we all followed the paths paved by those before us, we’d never explore new terrain, we’d never have innovation, sliced bread, the snuggie or rockets careening into space. You don’t have to do everything from scratch but be sure at least some of the trails you take are self-mapped.

Vegetarian for 10 Years

I choose to live an herbivore life and have for the past decade.

At first, it was almost an accident but I’ve seen so many benefits that I’ve stuck with it for ten years. I don’t think that vegetarianism is right for every body but it’s right for my body so Imma keep doing it!

Junk Connections

In the world of constant connectivity and social media, why do we feel more alone than ever? In this video I’m addressing our addiction to junk connections – much like junk food, these types of connections leave us feeling dissatisfied, more hungry, more tired and more lonely.
